welcome to the new decade

time waits for no one so here she comes anticipated and dreaded by all and some what she may bring marriage or kin or both with love thats ever lasting and flying cars with self serving bars and cures so groundbreaking that we will hold no scars and our dreams achieved and new ones to pursue or a chance to develop and begin to review the legacy we will leave behind the stories they will tell of mankind who became adults within this time time for change  time for life time to do time to drive time to live and not just survive and we welcome time with open arms

teenage fever

they say we don’t appreciate  what we have when we are young i have finally come to appreciate now that my teenage years are done nostalgia beneath my feet  of running havoc in the street with 10 missed phone calls from my mum  playing out without the sun the scars remain on my legs of jumping straight out of my bed with confidence and big dreams and never running out of steam to show the culture in my hips laced with denim engulfed in rips fashion statement or just wild the beauty of being a teenage child but the awkwardness of a growing chest the choice between a bra and vest the curse on woman caused by Eve the separation i begin to see the memories lie in my arms his are strong and bold  mine feeble and bland the differences begin to show the echoes of a lingering no but my lips can’t help but interject i can achieve whatever i project my heart begins to accept a unity of mutual prospect we leave with a stat

do they love us, hate us or want to be us?

everyone wants to be black but nobody wants to be black what a juxtaposition have you ever heard something so contradictory that it makes perfect sense everyone wants to be black but nobody wants to be black she said so calmly before giving me the sight to look through her lens flying into a culture without paying baggage fee self diagnosing themselves colourblind when colour is all they make us see ignoring the scars on our backs now that we are free tagging along for the fun but in brutality chose to flee look at our skin like a bags of dirt yet they tan by the sea intensifying a melanin they have but cannot see so many ignored intellectuals but they honour our athletes wont give a coloured light of day  unless its a musician they'd die to meet constitutions filled with equal rights  and civil liberties created by them not us to follow but never lead we are headed in the same direction until the train arrives and they stay

black history month

this is for those who inspire me for coloured girls showcased by tyler perry singing birds like maya angelou for every feature of me i see in you for the strength to plough along for the plantations that made us strong for the endurance pulsing through our veins for the hope overshadowing our pains for the unity in a separated nation for the courage of a pigmentation for the fight to bring about change for not accepting the stigma of being strange for those who rise before the sun for the efforts of a single mum for the parents witnessing authorities kill their sons but still have the courage to carry on for the first black president of the united states for the moonlight they tried to negate for the princess rejected by the world for the 4C hair perfectly coiled this is for everyone that looks like me for everyone fighting to be free for those working to be seen for those making history

where i am from theres no area just ends locals spend a tenner on a mercedes benz the home of the best with the paper and the pens only the family we dont do friends where i am from the ends justify the means as long as you work hard your hustle doesn’t make you a fiend criminal or saint we show each other respect equality resides here at its very best but where i am from you dont always feel safe gardens on the streets of a life we couldn’t save hashtags on twitter trying to restore faith never ending cycle in this violence that we bathe where i am from  its an eye for an eye the whole area is blind and nobody minds no vision so we perish day by day no motivation to find another way and thats what they say about where i am from a minority of hate representing the whole  slum talent beyond belief completely suppressed leave the ends behind or you will never be the best so where i am from we all want to leave but when we leave we a

soulmate

love is beyond an instant attraction between two colliding stars love proves the ray of our shine is only evident  due to the interdependence of another soul on ours the harmony of tranquillity and positive energy consuming your being reassembling your existence and placing pieces correctly straightening out what was born leaning love cannot be assigned to forces engulfed in sole gratification love is the belonging of those who may not realise  but are the reason it has meaning

cobra

strap your heart into a harness isolate it in a tower guarded by a dragon impossible to obtain a short lived romance  blossomed amongst flowers seasonal love impossible to sustain a heart is bleeding no plaster for healing sanity dissolving impossible to maintain scar remains forever wishing for more time together envenomed serpent bite replaced sunshine with rain

march 7th

just like that life has changed the stars no longer look the same the sunsets suddenly mean so much more the clothes scattered on the bedroom floor a mess never to be cleaned emotions pouring at the seams of bed sheets  as we intertwine  our hearts eternally stopped in time this feeling it can never change face to face with final fate our mission has come to an end saved from endless parodies of how life is supposed to be and how love is supposed to feel we've embarked on something truly real

dear mini me, i'm sorry

a note

when the moon is ours and we wish upon the stars connecting for hours my favourite place to be with dreams to flee a whole world to see finally be free to do what we want high with no blunt endless movie stunts not seeing you for months tragedy and we meet again an end to the rain only one pain that we must part day by day hour by hour time goes by feelings intensify unconventional friendship a conflicted mind wrong or right the heart does not lie if memories that were never made begin to fade then that is our fate our hearts remain at peace but look back to this note the feelings were not remote compressed in these words young passionate and real

my dream car

my first car an absolute disaster but in the moment the love of my life my first taste of freedom a new experience bonded to me like husband to wife  the inevitable breakdown  the final manoeuvre engine failure followed by relief its purpose fulfilled a new confidence found to search something better and cruise around town  my second car similar to my first provides short term happiness and breaks down even worse impatience brings my third and fourth but tragedy makes me yearn for more more than just a myth of survival unexpected expenditure  just to run another mile and when all hope seems to be lost my dream car finally makes a stop an investment i will never regret the excitement of reliability makes me forget all the terrible rides i have journeyed in the past understanding why none of those cars could last mileage low on the brand new plate head turning model from an acclaimed make maintenance high but worth the price 100% guaranteed a lifetime to

a debate about pain

why do we as humans chase pain its better than not feeling anything at all its better to walk into a burning building and feel the heat  than drive past it in the cold our heartbeat increases as we walk through the centre which is better  than  the dullness of strolling on the pavement of the road and drowning in an ocean we cannot swim rather than wonder if the water feels like what we forebode why do we as humans chase pain to feel alive i suppose the greeks masked pain with love and turned it into a show Shakespeare  did the same   enticing us in Romeo poisoned us with thoughts  to scar our arms our minds our lives  and our hearts and we keep reading because we enjoy the pain we keep holding on because sun comes after rain we wear the same clothes over and over and over again despite the blood stain on the sleeves to remind ourselves that we are alive to feel something anything pain

tyler court a

if these walls could speak they would play the melody of things we did whilst we were young the melody of our favourite song the danger of looking into the eyes of stars perfectly aligned a lion laying like a king slain by an arrow galloping to pierce a loving beating heart the walls would begin right at the start the tension bouncing around the space the windows closed no place to escape to the space felt so safe  with you it was a race against time if these walls could speak the walls would beg for a break  from all the emotions that were at stake and promises to be fulfilled  when these walls are no longer filled with us the doubts hung like art the image so clear it could've ripped us apart but the walls reminded us of the start when there was no place to escape to but the space felt so safe with you they saw us bound the words long overdue the walls harvesting something true  something old becoming something new our
